What is the Golden Triangle?
The Golden Triangle is India’s most popular travel circuit, linking three cities in the country’s north — Delhi, Agra and Jaipur — in a loop of roughly 720 km. It is the perfect first trip to India: in one journey you’ll stand before the Taj Mahal, explore grand Mughal forts and discover the palaces of Rajasthan, with each leg just a half-day drive from the next.
Most travellers complete the circuit in 4 to 6 days; three days is possible at a brisk pace. With a little more time you can add a Ranthambore tiger safari or the sacred riverside city of Varanasi.
