Golden Triangle Tour — 3 Days, 2 Nights
Overview
The 3-day Golden Triangle tour is the classic India highlights trip at a brisk, efficient pace — perfect when time is short. In three days you’ll see the Taj Mahal at sunrise, Agra’s Mughal forts and the pink palaces of Jaipur, privately guided from start to finish.
Day-by-Day Itinerary
Arrive Delhi & transfer to Agra
On arrival at Delhi airport or railway station, your guide and chauffeur greet you and set off for Agra along the smooth Yamuna Expressway (about 3.5–4 hours). Agra was the Mughal capital at the empire’s height in the 16th and 17th centuries and is home to three UNESCO World Heritage Sites, so the city you wake in tomorrow is steeped in imperial history. After checking in and freshening up, your evening is free — your guide can suggest a relaxed stroll or an early night ahead of tomorrow’s sunrise start.
- Private pickup in Delhi
- Scenic drive to Agra on the Yamuna Expressway
- Evening at leisure to settle in
Sunrise Taj Mahal, Agra Fort → Jaipur
Rise early for the Taj Mahal at sunrise — the white-marble mausoleum Shah Jahan built between 1632 and 1653 for his wife Mumtaz Mahal, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World — at its most serene before the crowds. After breakfast, explore Agra Fort, the red-sandstone citadel from which the Mughals ruled much of India and where Shah Jahan spent his final years gazing across the river at the Taj. Drive on to Jaipur (about 4.5 hours), stopping at Fatehpur Sikri, the capital Emperor Akbar built in 1571 and abandoned within 15 years for want of water. Arrive in the Pink City by evening.
- Sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal
- Guided tour of Agra Fort
- Stop at Fatehpur Sikri en route
- Arrive Jaipur, the Pink City
Jaipur sightseeing & return to Delhi
After breakfast, discover Jaipur — washed terracotta-pink in 1876 to welcome the Prince of Wales. Ascend to the hilltop Amber Fort, the 16th-century stronghold of the Kachhwaha Rajputs; photograph the Hawa Mahal, the 1799 ‘Palace of Winds’ whose 953 lattice windows let royal women watch the street unseen; pause at the lake-set Jal Mahal; and see the Jantar Mantar, an 18th-century royal observatory and UNESCO site with the world’s largest stone sundial, with time for the city’s famous textiles, gems and handicrafts. In the late afternoon, drive back to Delhi (about 5–5.5 hours) for your onward flight or hotel.
- Amber Fort & Hawa Mahal
- Jal Mahal photo stop
- Jantar Mantar observatory
- Shopping for Jaipur handicrafts
- Return drive to Delhi
